Static replica of a type 2 phaser never actually seen in the original series. This is what they told us the phaser looked like in the Starfleet Technical Manual, first published (and when I read it) in 1975. Inaccurate size, proportions, colors, and details, including the power meter that reads OL instead of 10; I distinctly remember this tidbit from when i was a kid - I just always thought it stood for Overload.
