Replica Ruby Slippers from "The Wizard of Oz"
My replica ruby slippers are made using custom made base shoes that are specifically made to replicate the shape of the original shoes. Each shoe is a size 5 (the size of the originals), and is lined with a creamy white kid leather, and a replica gold "Innes Shoe Co." stamp is stamped into the right shoe, along with "Judy Garland" written in black ink on the left shoe, as the originals have.
The replica shape base shoes are covered in thousands of pre strung red metallic sequins, in the same layout as the original ruby slippers. Each slipper is adorned with a beautiful bow, cut from a thin leather which is then painted red, and vintage 1930's rhinestones (in silver settings), ruby red bugle beads, and rectangle center glass stones are all added to complete the bows.
The bottoms of the slippers are painted with a red glossy enamel paint, and orange felt is added to the toe of the bottoms of the shoes, as was done to the originals to muffle the sound of Judy walking down the yellow brick road during filming.
