Indiana Jones And The Raiders Of The Lost Ark, preproduction idol

I got this from the son of the original maker who was clearing alot of his fathers indy stuff out. I only had limited funds at the time so had to pass on the other pieces he had which now are worth hundreds, maybe thousands. He told me that his father was a mouldmaker on the movie and was given this preproduction idol after it was discarded in favour of the one without the headband. Its light and probably foam filled. The paint is, I am told, a now banned 'styanite' due to its harmful sideffects and over the years its discolouring, as you can see in the pic. This was borrowed by a friend who made a mould 'for his own use' but went on to sell copies. Every idol with a headband is cast from this one!! This was the first prop I ever bought. had it about 14 years.
