Warehouse 13, William Parry Inuksuk Statuette Artifact

original movie prop

As the Warehouse crew chase down alternate timeline Benedict Valda in penultimate fifth season episode Cangku Shisi, they come upon the face-down body of one of his victims, Regent Keeler, in the secret Regent Vault. When Artie turns the body over, he finds that Valda has booby-trapped it with an Inuksuk statuette that once belonged to Sir William Edward Parry. Exposed to air, the artifact unleashes a blizzard that flash freezes Artie and blows the others out of the room.

William Parry was an early nineteenth century English arctic explorer who made several attempts at both finding a northwest passage and later reaching the North Pole. During a voyage in 1819, Parry's ships were iced in for 10 months with the air temperature dropping to -54F (-48C).

An inuksuk is a human-built standing stone object used by the Inuit and other North American arctic tribes to mark places of interest on the often otherwise featureless tundra landscape. Historically, inuksuit were most often composed of just a simple upright stone, with cross- and human-shaped figures being more recent and possibly European-influenced additions.

15 x 12" (38 x 30 cm) multipart painted hard foam statuette.
