Robin of Sherwood, William Marshal Tabard Series 1

original movie costume

Screen worn soldier's tabard, with Lion Rampart livery.

As seen in Series One, "The King's Fool" by Richard Carpenter.

King Richard calls the Lords and Barons to Nottingham, after he returns to England after ransom.

Historically, "The Council of Clipston" features where he tells them that their positions were on loan and they need to pay him if they want to retain their positions.

One of the non-speaking roles features an actor wearing this tabard, the arms of William Marshal. Marshal served four Kings of England, and was fiercely loyal to the crown.

One of the chief mediators for Magna Carta. He would be later cheekily credited by the writer as being a member of the Coven of Lucifer, in the Series Two episode "The Swords

of Wayland."

This distinctive tabard is later reused in the Series Three episode, "Rutterkin."
