This is a Hollloway reproduction of the original Elvis in Concert crew jackets worn by members of Elvis' entourage and crew during his final concerts. This jacket, unlike the many other reproductions out there, is a zip-up vintage Holloway--made by the same company that made all of the original jackets for Elvis's 1977 tour. The original jackets, upon which this one is based, were manufactured as "Apollo by Holloway" and were featured prominently in the 1981 documentary film THIS IS ELVIS.
Most other reproductions of this jacket are button-up versions--made by Howe of Mephis for Tom Parker's Boxcar Enterprises (shown in photos)--and were sold as souvenirs after Elvis's death; those souvenir jackets are more commonly black in color but occasionally can be found in red. Whatever their source, if they're not zip-up and feature the tag reading "Apollo by Holloway", they're not genuine. Sadly, this one was acquired by us many years ago and we believed it to be genuine. However, Elvis's friend and tour manager, "Diamond Joe" Esposito, has since kindly clarified the role of this jacket for us. Caveat Emptor.
