SeaQuest DSV, UEO Collar Patch (Lieutenant Junior)

This small blue collar patch was part of a rank identification layout system used on all UEO officer uniforms. For a commissioned officer the rank patch layout would consisted of 2 different sets of rank patches signifying his rank within the UEO, a large shoulder patch would be present on the RH side shoulder and then there would be 2 smaller collar patches like this one that would be positioned on the front collar sections of the uniform. 

The UEO also used specific colour backings in their ranked patches to signify the personnel's area of expertise. As an example an Engineering personnel would always have a red backing and a medical personnel would always have a white backing etc etc.

In the case of this particular patch the rank displayed on it is of a Lieutenant Junior officer. The patch also shows the officer is a command branch personnel.
