Blade Runner, Tsin-Tao Bottle

replica movie prop

It's never explicitly stated what type of alcohol Deckard buys to calm himself after retiring Zhora, but it's called 'Tsin-Tao', and it's definitely not beer. It may be sake, vodka, or perhaps baijiu, a 120 proof Chinese liquor distilled from sorghum or rice. (Personally, I think Deckard would be a baijiu kinda guy.)

This replica is made from an authentic glass Smirnoff de Czar special reserve vodka bottle, which were only produced in limited quantities between 1980 and 1982.

Thanks for the mention here and the kind words concerning other props in general! I don't really know if it means anything but I noticed a while back that when you put the subtitles up on Blade-Runner Deckard actually asks for "Tsin-Tao" which roughly translates to "Golden Dynasty". Tsing-Tao on the other hand has no translation. Food for thought! [by Once-Bitten ]
