Lake Placid, Tranquilizer Dart

original movie prop

Three people attempt to stop a gigantic crocodile, who is terrorizing residents in Black Lake, Maine. From the 1999 film Lake Placid, this is one of the two tranquilizer darts made and used in the film. One of the darts was damaged during filming while they finished with this dart. Made by the legendary Stan Winston Studios, this particular dart has a real needle on the end so it would stick in the crocodile. It can be seen on screen when Jack and Hank plan to allow Maine Fish and Game to kill the crocodile when they arrive, but Hector suggests instead that he lures it out of the water and drug it into unconsciousness.
