This is a replica of the main subject of the film, “The Maltese Falcon (1941).” This “stuff that dreams are made of” was wanted by everyone, and they would lie, cheat, steal, or kill to get it. The one who wanted it the most was Kasper Gutman (played brilliantly by Sydney Greenstreet in his FIRST film role). The statuette of a black enamelled falcon could later be seen in the movie, “Illegal (1955),” and in “Once Upon A Time in Hollywood (2019),” The original prop is owned by Leonardo DiCaprio, who starred in the latter film. It is interesting to note that “The Maltese Falcon,” is one of the few movie remakes that is considered better than the original film (“The Maltese Falcon” 1931) or the previous remake (“Satan Met A Lady” 1936).
