This is a full-scale prop-replica that I picked up at a Trek Con in the late 1980s. It features a metal antenna and center plate. The unit 'chirps' when the antenna is flipped open and the indicator lights flash in sequence (not all at once - it looks like 2 LEDs are lit only because of the long exposure used to make the photo). This was the first 'talking' communicator that I added to my collection - when the antenna is opened, after the chirp, the unit says "Enterprise here. How many to beam up?" The voice is generic and does not sound like Kirk or Spock or McCoy.
