This is a full-scale, professionally produced (maker unknown) prop-replica representing the small "vital signs scanner" that Dr. McCoy carried in his field kit.
I picked this replica up at a Trek Con (late 80s, early 90s?). The replica is machined aluminum fitted with colored acrylic indicators. This is a solid / static replica with no working functions.
