TITANIC - ORIGINAL WHITE STAR LINE PASSENGER DECK CHAIR. This prop was used in the deck scenes where passengers such as Jack & Rose would sit and pass the time. These chairs were produced in extremely limited numbers and most were destroyed in repeated takes of scenes where the vessel sinks. These fully functional prop chairs were made to historical specifications and exactly matched the deck chairs that were originally used on the TITANIC herself. Of course, it bears the White Star Line insignia carved into the head rest.
This prop is one of a few movie prop deck chairs not to be tossed overboard during the sinking scenes. The cane seat – which is normally the first part of the chair to incur damage – is in near-perfect condition. We also have in our collection one of the only surviving movie prop deck chairs used in the sinking scenes (please refer to another of our listings).
