Antitrust, Stanford University Student Directory

original movie prop

This item was used in the movie "Antitrust" in 2001. Milo Hoffman was played by Ryan Phillippe in the movie. This item is a thicker type paper that has the Stanford University student directory printed on it. This is page 4 of 12 for all the students majoring in engineering in the computer science department. There are three students per page of the directory. The first student listed is Suzanne Hobler and the third student listed is Jeff Jeffrey. The second student listed on the page is Milo and it states his BS, his concentrated studies, and his ID picture. The fake website listed at the top of the page is Student Directory.Org.

This student directory page is seen in the very beginning of the movie in the opening credits. In the credits Gary Winston (Tim Robbins) the CEO of the company NURV is talking about technology and Synapse, a future global communications system. We also see Milo and his friends starting their own company in the competitive world of computer software. Gary then circles the student directory page of Teddy Chin and Milo Hoffman because he wants to ask them to work under his company alongside him. Milo accepts the job offer, but after awhile becomes very suspicious of Gary and trouble starts to follow him around every new corner. This item was originally purchased through an Ebay auction and the COA is through a well known prop company. "Truth can be dangerous...Trust can be deadly!"
