Xena: Warrior Princess, Soldier helmet

This is a screen-worn soldier helmet or galea constructed of resin-coated hard foam with various leather trim and components, including cheek guards with a chin strap and a curtained neck guard. It was originally purchased during the February 2002 warehouse liquidation through It’s A Wrap! in Burbank, CA. To my knowledge, the first appearance of this style of helmet in X:WP was when the Philistine army wore such helmets in the season 2 episode “Giant Killer”. The style re-appears in many subsequent episodes, including “The Price”, “The Deliverer”, “One Against an Army”, and “A Good Day.”
