Andromeda, Serial Quantum Chips

In fourth season episode Waking the Tyrant's Device, the Andromeda Ascendant discovers a legendary artificial moon littered with the wreckage of hundreds of crashed spacecraft. Attempting to disable the source of a power drain emanating from within the moon, the crew come up a cache of ancient serial quantum chips, rare and highly valuable computer components not seen since the fall of the Commonwealth 300 years ago. Thinking they've hit the mother load, Beka and Harper abscond with as many chips as they can carry, only to find, once back onboard the Andromeda, that all of the chips have been rendered inoperative by centuries of exposure to hard radiation.
