This distinctive, monumental, 6-foot-tall black chair is featured in eleven episodes, most commonly associated with Worf’s quarters, but also found in other settings. The design is by Peter Opsvik, called “Garden Chair,” from 1985 for Stokke, Norway, with black leather cushions, ebonized bentwood supports, and wool-carpeted base. Additionally seen in the episodes: Haven (1987), Reunion (1990), Redemption, Part 1 (1991), New Ground (1992), Cost of Living (1992), A Fistful of Datas (1992), Birthright, Part 1 (1993), Parallels (1994), Genesis (1994), and First Born (1994). Later featured in “Friends,” Season 6, Episode 16 (2000). Acquired indirectly from Modern Props, Los Angeles. See the matching “Garden Bar Stools.” Several of Peter Opsvik’s other chair designs were used on the sets of Star Trek: TNG.
