Super 8, Screen worn wardrobe

original movie costume

Martin's (Gabriel Basso) Bloody Costume from J.J. Abrams 2011 sci-fi thriller, Super 8. In the film, a group of young kids filming a home movie witness a terrifying trail derailment, and subsequently begin to investigate the strange events that occur in their small town after a creature escapes from the wreckage. This costume can be seen worn by Martin during the last act of the film, and was modified for the scene in which Martin injures his leg when a tank misfires near the kids shelter.

Included in this set is a hooded orange windbreaker jacket, a two-tone t-shirt, brown Dickies slacks, striped socks, and a pair of Converse tennis shoes. The jacket is made by BDG from cotton and polyester, and seals in the front with a metal zipper. The t-shirt is made by Hanes from 100% cotton and is green on top, and mustard yellow below the breast. Martin's brown jeans are made by Dickies and have been production distressed with dirt and blood from Martin's injury on his left leg. Located inside the pants at the waistline is "Martin" in red ink. Both his striped socks and Converse All Stars have been similarly splattered with stage blood.

This costume includes a number of sizing tags, including the jacket (size large) the shirt (medium), pants (32x32), and shoes (11 US). Also included is a production tag indicating that this costume was worn in scenes 159 and 181A. Although it features notable production distressing, this piece remains in good worn condition.
