Face Off, Screen used Face/Off Prisoner boots

original movie prop

A pair of light-up supposedly 'magnetising' metal prisoner boots from the 1997 sci-fi thriller Face/Off. These and others like it were worn by the background inmates in the Erewhon (which is a scrambled 'nowhere') top security prison when, after their identity swap, Sean Archer (John Travolta) is incarcerated as terrorist genius Castor Troy (Nicholas Cage) to seek information from his kid brother, Pollux Troy (Alessandro Nivola). The bespoke aluminium pair are edged with black rubber and covered in rivets with a piston effect on the outer edge of the left boot. Due to on set wear, the top bracket for the piston on the right boot no longer remains. Fixed to the clasped back of each hinged boot is an LED which lights up (from a long black wire), the left and right boot both showing a yellow light when connected to a 9V battery – you can even see the wires in the film! The raised numbers across the front of each boot do not match, the numbers read:“21067” and “24865” . These custom made 'shoes' are in a well used condition and still show very faint blood spatter from the fight scene in the canteen. measuring approximately 33cm x 15cm x 25cm (13” x 6” x 10”). Complete with these boots is a long grey wire with a battery attached to a switch to activate the 'light-up' option. Inside the left states “109” and “36” handwritten, with the right showing “107”, also handwritten.
