The Blob, Screen used Colonial Theatre Blob door

Here is one of the few props in existance from the 1958 classic film 'THE BLOB' staring Steve McQueen and Aneta Corsaut. A mysterious creature from another planet, resembling a giant blob of jelly, lands on earth. The people of a nearby small town refuse to listen to some teenagers who have witnessed the blob's destructive power. In the meantime, the blob just keeps on getting bigger One of the most memorable scene's of this film is the Blobs attack at the Colonial Theatre, located in Phoenixville PA. As the teenagers watch the Saturday night spook show at the Colonial Theatre, the Blob slides its way in and reeks havoc and then continues to terrorize the town. This is the original door off the Colonial Theatre featured in the film, very clearly seen on screen and used by Steve Mcqueen, Aneta Corsaut and all the main cast of teens in the film. This door was originally installed on the Colonal Theatre in 1903, and is best known for the running out of the theatre scene from The Blob. In the 1970's the door had a extra lock installed on top, but aside from that the door is in 100% original condition... which includes the original door handle, kick plate and hindges. After nearly 100 years, the door was removed from the Colonial Theatre in 2001 for a facelift and renovation to the theatre. There were a few other doors on the front of the theatre but this was the ONLY ONE to be used by Steve McQueen and the cast of the film before and during the Blob bust out scene. This door has complete paperwork documentation provided by the current owner and manager of the Colonal Theatre. Although there were a few other doors on the Colonial Theatre this is the only door in existance that still has the original signature etched glass, all of the other doors had the original glass broken in the 1970's. This is truly a one of a kind piece.
