A vest worn by John McClane (Bruce Willis) from the third instalment of the Die Hard series, Die Hard With A Vengeance. With his life spiralling out of control, suspended New York detective John McClane becomes the target of the mysterious terrorist “Simon” (Jeremy Irons), who puts McClane and his accidental partner Zeus (Samuel L Jackson) to the test to prevent bombs detonating across the city.
This particular vest is screen matched to that seen being worn by McClane when he gets aboard the train to identify the bomb planted by Simon (Jeremy Irons) and manages to throw it off the train. This shot was flipped in the final cut, as noted by the reversed warning signs in the train’s cabin. Made from a stretchable white ribbed cotton, this vest has been intentionally distressed on the front with smears of dirt and grease. The vest is accompanied by a holster rig and New York lieutenant police badge. The holster is made from brown leather and the badge is a metal pin attached to a leather wallet.
