The BlasTech SE-14 was generally carried by Imperial forces, as backup to the standard-issue E-11 blaster rifle. The original prop was derived from a cut-down Swiss-made Rexim Favor submachine gun (parenthetically, also used to create the Nostromo pistol from the movie Alien.) This upgraded version of the SE-14 was only seen in ANH publicity photos.
