Sanctuary, Praxian Memory Harvesting Spider Bot

In third season episode Firewall, invisible intruders sent by Adam Worth use this device to attempt to steal Will's submerged memories of his recent 'temporary death' experience. This spider-like robot seeks out neural activity, attaching itself to the target's scalp and embedding two probes directly into the nervous system at the base of the skull. 

After one is recovered by the Sanctuary team, Henry turns down its power and uses it to help Will recover critical memories that will eventually lead the team to Hollow Earth and Praxis. Seen again (with extensive CGI enhancement) in fourth season episode Chimera, where one is used to virtually interact with a sentient organic nanite that has invaded the Sanctuary's systems.
