In fourth season opener Tempus, Helen Magnus has just followed Adam Worth back in time to Victorian London, where Worth is determined to use future technology to save his terminally ill daughter Imogene, and Magnus intent on stopping Worth from catastrophically tampering with the timeline. 

Worth appears on the streets of Whitechapel carrying two large and very incongruous black Pelican cases, one of which contains a specific treatment for his daughter's condition.  When he later finds that this case and the vial within containing his daughter's cure have been damaged by gunfire, Worth sets about recreating the drug using tools also brought back from the future.

Two of the devices, including the one used to analyze a sample onscreen, consist of compact metal flashlights with painted resin and faux leather covers, blue filters, and transparent machined acrylic extensions; each illuminates by pressing a switch on the base.  The third device is a minimally redressed functional infrared/laser thermometer. Includes black Pelican case as carried by Worth and also seen lying open in his lab.
