Beneath the Planet of the Apes, PROP GORILLA GUN FROM BENEATH THE PLANET OF THE APES

This item is one of the rifles carried by the gorilla cavalry and infantry in "Beneath the Planet of the Apes." It's solid wood, stained white pine or some other light wood, the breech mechanism is a separate piece, also wood, and with a nylon non-adjustable sling held on by two very light sling swivels.
Originally purchased in the late 1990s at Star Wares on Main, a Hollywood collectibles dealer of long standing.
Provenance: from the Estate of Richard Wilson, a widely respected collector and dealer in movie, celebrity and political memorabilia, and owner of Norma's Jeans, a catalog business which sold memorabilia
