This ape robe is absolutely breathtaking. It is made of a soft black genuine leather that has a square pattern perforated throughout. It is lined with a black felt and has trim around all the edges. It has a zipper up the front to close it. This is a larger piece that looks like it was designed for an adult male who was wearing an ape muscle suit because it measures approx. 25" from armpit to armpit and 40" from the collar to the bottom hem. This item shows some studio applied "age" around the edges. The design of this piece is outstanding. It has a certain Asian flavor while still maintaining that strange Ape city style. It is truly a work of art. This is obviously hand crafted and it is obviously made by a master sewer. This piece was designed by Colleen Atwood the academy award winner for best costume design in 2003.
