Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Original Michelangelo Turtle Hands Prototype

original movie costume

This is a very rare and an orginal prototype pair of hands that were created by Jim Henon's Creature shop crew for the character of Michaelangelo. It was used for screen testing during production, and can be seen being used in the behind the scenes footage during screen tests. These were the original desgin before switching to a full forearm and hand piece that were connected, as we have seen in the final films production. It was acquired through a private colection from Bill Piper who was a master plasterer for the creature shop crew in both Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) as well as the master plasterer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Secret of the Ooze (1991).
