Star Trek: The Next Generation, Original Klingon Bloodwine Mug

original movie prop

There were 2 original metal mugs that were used on the show with the original mold from "The Ten Commandments" (1956). Then production needed more but the original process was far too time consuming and expensive so they made some foam mugs from the 2 part mold. Only 2 of these survive today and this is one of them. Numerous episodes show them...everytime you see more than 2 in a shot they were the foam mugs. The 2 original metal ones had dents in the tops...that is how they can be seen. This was also used on DS9. TNG episode "A Matter of Honor" is a great episode to see several of these used. "Pre-emtive Strike" is another excellent episode to see a foam mug carried on a tray into the bar where Ro is "hiding" from Starfleet for her mission. You can easily see the thin rimmed metal mugs but the one on the tray is very thick on the top edge as the foam mugs were. Look closely and you will see the line from the original 2 part mold to make this. (mold was also sold through auction several years ago)

Doug Drexler made a resin one for his own collection that sold through Propworx. There was someone on the RPF who made pretty decent copies but his information was off about many things.
