Serenity, Operative Sword & Bloodied Handkerchief

The Operative, an Alliance agent pursuing River Tam throughout the film, carries a Japanese style sword (similar to a ninjato) and uses it to give opponents his twisted version of an 'honorable death'. This stainless steel effects prop, with spring-loaded retractable tip, was used in an early scene in which the Operative quickly dispatches two guards, incapacitates the psy-ops project director who failed to prevent River's escape, and then forces him to fall on the sword. With silk handkerchief soaked in stage blood, used to wipe down the sword after the deed was done.
