Star Trek: Voyager, ORIGINAL Sketch Thorium Converter

original production artwork

This is from a group of drawings that aren't as fully detailed or colored or as glamorous as the main renderings from Star Trek, but they are still part of the production history. They were used to get producer approval, and maybe they weren't picked (though some were), but the concepts we all know from the shows and films had to start somewhere. The bottom line is that you can have a piece of media SF artwork for a lot less.

This 8.5"x11" original pen and ink drawing is a concept for what the sketch calls a Starfleet thorium down-block converter with new cobalt whitener and G-7. I'm sure it does something with thorium (which the Cataati need for power) but I don't believe that other stuff; it's just marketing. This one-of-a-kind prop was designed by, and is from the collection of your seller, Star Trek Voyager Senior Illustrator Rick Sternbach. Drawing is signed in the lower right. Drawing will be countersigned in gold and a letter of authenticity provided.
