This item was used in the movie "The Invisible" in 2007. Nick Powell was played by Justin Chatwin in the movie. This item is an "American Eagle" short sleeve pocket shirt that is faded blue. This item has been studio aged to look tattered and well worn because the character of Nick wears this shirt as a pajama top to sleep in at night. This shirt is a size medium in men's and is very noticeable during key scenes in the movie.
You can see this shirt toward the beginning of the movie after Annie Newton (Margarita Levieva) starts a fight in the high school cafeteria with Nick over the money that Pete Egan (Chris Marquette) owes for a cell phone. Both Annie and Nick end up in the principal’s office, but they are released with just a warning. The first time that this shirt is seen is when, Pete visits Nick at his house that same night because Pete paid Nick to finish some translations for a class at school. Nick reveals to Pete that he is going to London for a writer's program the next night, but he is not going to tell his mom. Nick also talks about how cold his mother became after his father died and the first thing she told him was, “Don’t worry about it Nick, this won’t change a thing for you.” Nick wants to gain independence from his mother because she never considered what he wanted to do with his own life and he has become incredibly sick of her. The next scene that you can see this shirt in is after Nick's mom found the airline ticket and canceled his plans to leave for London. Nick trying to contemplate what to do next with his life and current situation lays upside down on his bed and throws darts. He finally decides to get dressed and go to the party that he was invited to. This is the very party that leads to his disappearance and invisibility. This item was originally purchased through an Ebay auction and the COA is through Premiere Props. "How do you solve a murder when the victim is you?”
