Stargate SG-1, Naquadah Generators Mk I

original movie prop

A rare and superdense mineral, naquadah can greatly enhance energy output and is also highly impervious to damage. Used to construct and power advanced technology such as the Stargates and also highly prized for weapons production, the Ancients, Asgard, Goa'uld, and other races have sought out sources of naquadah over the millennia.  Samantha Carter is the first Tau'ri to create a naquadah-based prototype power source for Earth, in third season episode Learning Curve.

The Naquadah Generator, capable of producing large amounts of clean energy from small quantities of material, subsequently goes on to become an important piece of SGC tech throughout the rest of the series, including use in emergency activation of Stargates; re-activation of other alien technologies (such as Arthur's Mantle); and powering Earth's first deep-space cruisers.  Mk I Naquadah Generators are also seen in use in the first season of Stargate Atlantis, before the Atlantis Expedition obtains a Mk II Generator and thereafter a ZPM to power the city's defense.

Two identical working hero props, as seen in multiple seasons and episodes, of machined metal with resin and acrylic components, weighing 12 lb (5.4 kg) apiece. Manually telescoping end pods flank the central reaction chamber, and magnetically latched endcaps open to reveal ports for metal-to-metal connection of included faux power cables. Electronics are functional as seen onscreen. Lifting each top control piece activates the green status lights. Twisting the control 90 degrees activates the red status lights. Lowering the control back onto the core in red status mode activates the generator, illuminating each extension, brightly illuminating the white energy pipes front and back, and starting blue indicator lights cycling around the top of the center hood. Includes custom RF remote that works with both generator props, allowing each device to be turned on or off, the illumination to be brightened or dimmed, the speed of blue indicator cycling to increase or decrease, and an instant 'overload' setting. With production-used Pelican carrying case including foam cutouts for both props.
