The Twilight Zone, Mystic Seer Prop

Pictured is a functioning Mystic Seer “Fortune teller” machine, as seen in the episode ‘Nick of Time’ on The Twilight Zone. It was constructed from aluminium over top of a genuine 1950s Ask Swami machine, maintaining accuracy in size and function to the original screen-used prop. For one penny it dispenses old fortunes produced in the 1950s, and also acts as a functioning napkin dispenser. The toy head was custom sculpted and cast in lightweight plastic, then hand painted. The labels on the front, created from luminescent stickers, glow brightly in the dark.
