Sanctuary, Modified Chromatographic Scanner

In third season episode Firewall, a pair of beings capable of cloaking themselves against most forms of detection invade the Sanctuary.  Resident tech genius Henry modifies a set of scanners, normally used for detecting explosives and other chemical weapons, to locate high concentrations of an aromatic compound secreted by the creatures, allowing Magnus and the team to track and capture them (albeit temporarily).  In a subsequent fourth season episode, this device is referred to in passing as the 'handheld invasive scent directional detector.'

Wand-like device, predominantly resin with metal and plastic details. Two bands of inward scrolling red LEDs angle over a faux keypad on the face, and a set of 8 white LEDs in the detector head pulsate at an adjustable rate.
