Initially started as an online fan project, by the fourth season the series producers were routinely using the website as a reference source for writers and others involved in the production.  The Season 1-5 Lexicon was presented to the studio in printed format, thereafter copied and widely distributed to production staff and crew.  This version, covering the first eight seasons, was the last one known to have been printed in loosebound format; copies were given to Richard Dean Anderson, Peter Deluise, and two other producers. The contents of this version were also subsequently condensed and published in hardcover as Stargate SG-1: The Ultimate Visual Guide.  The subsequent final Lexicon, covering the entire ten season series run, is entirely digital and currently remains available online at rdanderson.com.
