An afterlife therapist and his daughter meet a friendly young ghost when they move into a crumbling mansion in order to rid the premises of wicked spirits. From the 1995 film Casper, This is the “Lazarus Machine” glass jar highly visible in the scene when the Lazarus Machine is discovered and activated. The Lazarus is a mysterious machine able to bring ghosts back to life; it takes a central role in the events created by J.T. McFadden to resurrect his son, Casper McFadden who died from pneumonia. A newspaper article reveals that Casper's father was declared legally insane after he built the machine, which he claimed could bring the dead back to life. Casper and Kat venture to the basement and find the Lazarus while Carrigan and Dibs sneak inside stealing the formula that powers the Lazarus and plot to use the machine believing it could grant them immortality.
