James Bond: Goldfinger, Lake Toplitz Nazi Gold Bar

replica movie prop

Solid metal replica of the gold bar from a rumored lost Nazi gold hoard, used by Bond to entice Auric Goldfinger. Although authentic gold bars smelted by Nazi Germany have not been found, they are known from vintage Third Reich photographs and films. Lake Toplitz, high in the Austrian Alps, was a site of Nazi explosive testing and rumored to be a location where vast quantities of gold and other valuables were dumped toward the end of the war. This piece is heavy and shiny, but not especially screen accurate.
