JFK, Jim Garrison's (Kevin Costner) Screen Worn Shirt

original movie costume

This cream short-sleeve dress shirt with the monogram JG embroidered on the left breast pocket was worn by the character Jim Garrison as portrayed by actor Kevin Costner in Oliver Stone’s 1991 conspiracy epic JFK, with an all star cast including Tommy Lee Jones, Gary Oldman, and Kevin Bacon. Mr. Costner wears this shirt on the 6th floor of the Texas School Book Depository while he and his assistant Lou Ivon (Jay O. Sanders) test the timing and accuracy of a rifle shot from the sniper’s window and discuss the possibility of multiple shooters and their placement around Dealey Plaza. The Size 15 & 1/2 - 16 shirt has the original label from prominent Hollywood shirt-maker Anto, with the initials KC and the year 1991 sewn inside. JFK won the 1992 Academy Award for Best Cinematography and Best Editing, and was nominated for six others, including Best Picture. The garment is in excellent screen worn condition and comes accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the costume house.
