The Great Detective's long coat, worn with deerstalker hat, in three episodes of the landmark series. It first appeared in the Season One episode THE SPECKLED BAND, without the hood, which is as it is now. Later, it was seen in the RETURN OF series (1988) in the episode SILVER BLAZE and then finally in the CASEBOOK opus THE BASCOMBE VALLEY MYSTERY (1991). The addtion of the hood left marks on the collar which can be easily seen, but the best case of matching is that in the years between uses, the lapel slit needed repair which can be noted in close ups - as shown. The left lapel was restitched leaving dimple marks in the horizonal seam, a band was added to the inside to support a flower, or whatever that could be inserted into the slit, and a tear was repaired at the end leaving a vertical stitch and a upward bludge in the fabric. The two earlier outings do not show this damage.
