Robin of Sherwood, Herne's Arrow (Studio Proto-type)

original movie prop weapon

This came from the HTV Studios prop store in Bristol after the series finished in 1985. It appears to be a "prototype" made of wood and painted silver. It bears a "celtic" knotwork pattern on the fletchings and head, and runes on all four sides, like the one in the show.

I have a hand-drawn, early concept sketch showing the genesis of the arrow, which was always meant to be a normal arrow, but ended up being more like a crossbow bolt on steroids!

There were a number of arrows used on the show. Two metal "hero" props, and possibly three wooden ones. One had a hollow tube running through, so fishing line could be fed through in order to make it "float."

Two may have been destroyed and thrown away, leaving a couple still out there. Somewhere?
