Troy, Helen’s bronze metal necklace

I am a huge history nerd and Troy is by far one of my all time favorite movies ever so Helen’s necklace was a must have. Being a representation from possibly the most famous war in history, one of the most sought after real world actual artifacts, and worn by one of the most known characters in history... definitely one of those props that I feel flew under the radar for quite some time so we’re very happy that we got this before it disappeared. Heinrich Schliemann was a German archaeologist who originally discovered the site of Troy and also found what he called the “Treasures of King Priam” which included the “Jewels of Helen”. There’s a very famous photo of Heinrich’s wife wearing this jewelry... which he smuggled out of Turkey 🙊. Now the collection is housed in Russia after they claimed it as “war booty” from WWII and aren’t giving up the jewelry anytime soon.
