Labyrinth, Goblin Puppet Head and Helmet

original movie prop

In 1986, the magical fantasy movie Labyrinth introduced the world to a set of unforgettable goblins from the minds of Jim Henson and Brian Froud. The film revolves around Sarah Williams (Jennifer Connelly) quest to find the way through an enormous otherworldly maze so that she can rescue her little brother, Toby, from Jareth the Goblin Kind (David Bowie). This is a Goblin puppet head and helmet from Jim Henson’s fantasy film Labyrinth. Made of foam latex, the head has eyebrows made of faux hair and eyes cast from resin. The eyes also feature red reflective pupils making them appear illuminated. A patch of Velcro is attached to the back of the head so hair or helmet appliances could be attached during production. A nylon sleeve runs below the head for hand access, with cotton netting running below to disguise it while being displayed in a themed “Henson’s Goblin Ale” barrel and hands to appear as if he is holding himself up to take a peek.
