Blues Brothers 2000, Ghost Rider on Horse Stop Motion Puppet
original movie prop
Great piece of old school FX art !!! THX C. my friend, for selling me this piece !!!
This stop motion animation puppet was screen used during a Blues Brothers performance of Riders In The Sky (A Cowboy Legend). The Ghost Rider and horse stand about 48" tall (with stand) and is 48" long. Completely articulated, this miniature has an internal armature that allowed the puppeteer to film his movement's one frame at a time. The craftsmanship and attention to detail on this piece are amazing, right down to the rider's accessories, including the shotgun, pistol, hat and rope. Stop motion animation has become a lost art form and this piece is a fantastic example of how film makers brought mythical creatures to life on film before CGI. The rider and horse are in overall great shape with only minor wear from use and storage. The riders left leg is detached at the knee, reattaching the leg involves passing the inner armature in the boot through a hole in the knee. Displayed on a custom stand, the rider and horse can be turned in any direction without having to turn the base. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for collectors, as stop motion animation artifacts are almost impossible to obtain making this a very special piece of film history that will be cherished for many years. The mannequin was added to the first photo to show the size of this large scale miniature.
