The original DON POST 'Boris Karloff' FRANKENSTEIN display head (circa 1960s) from the collection of FORREST J ACKERMAN, editor of the classic FAMOUS MONSTERS OF FILMLAND magazine.

The is THE original Frankenstein head seen for many years in Ackerman's home collection and the pages of FM and other publications and media.

In 1967, Forrest J Ackerman co-produced the now-classic monster LP record album 'AN EVENING WITH BORIS KARLOFF AND HIS FRIENDS', and this is the very Frankenstein head that was photographed for the LP's cover.

I first saw this piece in 1968 on THE ART LINKLETTER SHOW, when FJA was being interviewed by Linkletter about his famous collection. As Art interviewed FJA, this Frankenstein head sat on a table on the set. This Frankenstein also made an appearance in TV GUIDE magazine photo for an early Ackerman interview, and also in THE NATIONAL ENQUIRER in a photo of FJA and his collection.

Over the years, Forry's Frankenstein head was viewed, filmed, photographed and videotaped countless times on tours of his "Ackermansion", his home/make shift museum collection consisting of of Monster movie props, books and magazines, posters, masks, and countless other ephemera. It also appeared in Forry's HURRAY FOR HORRORWOOD! VHS tape tour from the 1980s.

Uncle Forry, as his legions of little monsters called him, died December 6, 2008 at age 92.
