Indiana Jones And The Raiders Of The Lost Ark, Flying Wing Gun shroud Piece

A piece of the Flying Wing from Steven Speilberg’s adventure classic, Raiders of the Lost Ark. The Flying Wing was a fictional aircraft designed and built specifically for the film, by Vickers Co, the same company that manufactures the Rolls-Royce automobile. It was painted and assembled on site by Elstree Studios. The one and only plane was blown up during production, and remnants of it were left in the desert. This particular piece, identified as the upper left portion of the left gun shroud, was recovered at the exact site of shooting–outside Tozuer, Tunisia in 2001. Made from fiberglass, the piece has been painted to match the rest of the plane, the paint has faired surprisingly well in spite of it’s time in the desert following the destruction of the plane.
A fantastic artifact from this classic Indiana Jones film. The piece is in good detailed condition considering it is a piece of literal shrapnel and measures approx. 8″ (20cm) in length.
