Star Trek: The Original Series, Electronic Feinberger Board

replica movie prop

This electronic clipboard or logbook, generally carried by an attractive female yeoman, was the precursor to the PADDs of the Trek movies and later series, and is echoed in the Apple iPad. Although once known to contain fuel consumption data, the device itself was never actually named on-screen. However, scripts did refer to it as an Electronic Feinberger Board, after TOS Propmaster Irving Feinberg.

SCENE 48 ANOTHER ANGLE

as Kirk starts toward his command chair, YEOMAN DORIS ATKINS moves to him, with an electronic Feinberger board in her hand.

YEOMAN ATKINS Will you sign this, sir?

Kirk glances at it, takes the pen from her, scribbles his name on the board and hands it back to her. She accepts it and walks back to her post. Kirk turns his attention to Commodore Stocker.

This replica has blinking lights at the top, with an otherwise static display.
