Drive, Driver's (Ryan Gosling) Screen Worn Hero Bloody Costume

original movie costume

This signature "Hero" costume was worn by the character "Driver," portrayed by actor Ryan Gosling, in the 2011 motion picture, "Drive." The outfit consists of a vintage 1930's short sleeve white Henley shirt, pair of blue jeans by Acne, distressed Levi's blue jean jacket, and pair of taupe Stacy Adams leather boots. The jeans were custom made for the actor's use on the production, and the jacket was custom tailored for Mr. Gosling. The shirt, pants, boots, and jacket have faux bloodstains, and the jacket has a faux bullet hole on the left shoulder from its use in the sequence after Driver is shot. Driver wore this complete outfit in numerous scenes after he and "Blanche" (Christina Hendricks) are ambushed by thugs in their hotel room following the pawnshop heist. The white Henley had additional fake blood applied to it for use in the scene near the end of the film when Driver is stabbed in the abdomen by "Bernie Rose" (played by Albert Brooks). Using set photos that show various stages of blood application and scene locations, as well as various other scenes from the film, the shirt and the jacket can be identified by the blood stain patterns and other markings as being used from the scene at the hotel to the end of the film when Driver is stabbed.  The garments are in screen used distressed condition. The costume is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the The Golden Closet.
