Robin Hood, Douglas Fairbanks in, Douglas Fairbanks Figurine

original production material

A small plaster figurine of Douglas Fairbanks in one of his most famous roles - "ROBIN HOOD" (UA 1922) and inscribed "Remember Robin Hood." Signed and made by Virginia Blair (1890-1973) great grand-daughter of Brigham Young, who went to Hollywood in 1918 to be an actress and spent the next 37 years there trying to achieve that goal. She had some success early in appearing in several Theda Bara films and wrote in her diary (University of Utah: Marriott Library Special Collections) of working with Wallace Berry, who brought her an apple every day, which may have also occurred during the making of ROBIN HOOD as he played 'King Richard'.
