Xena: Warrior Princess, Dao-style sword

This is screen-used sword made of heavy resin cast over a metal rod. It seems to take heavy inspiration from the traditional Chinese dao. Swords of this style first appear in the season 3 duology “The Debt: Parts 1 and 2,” carried by Xena, Borias, and their contingent of warriors during the attempted conquest of the Kingdom of Chin. They are later seen used by Xena and Borias throughout the remainder of Borias’s series appearances, including the “Sin Trade” duology, “Past Imperfect,” and “A Friend in Need: Part 1,” as well as by various minor characters in such episodes as “When in Rome,” “Vanishing Act,” “Between the Lines,” and “Crusader.”
