Iíll Fly Away TV, Crew Xmas Gift - Sam Waterston
original film-crew items
This was a gift given to the crew during the filming of the TV series I'll Fly Away (1991-93) from Sam Waterston. The base is inscribed "I'll Fly Away - Xmas 92 - Sam" which is hard to show clearly. I'm including another crew Xmas gift, a framed picture of the Bedford home decorated for the holidays. I'm don't remember which season this was nor what the text was from
I'll Fly Away is an American television drama series that aired on NBC from October 7, 1991, to February 5, 1993. Set during the late 1950s and early 1960s, in an unspecified Southern U.S. state, it starred Regina Taylor as Lilly Harper, a Black housekeeper for the family of district attorney Forrest Bedford, played by Sam Waterston. (The character's name is a peculiar twist on the name of Confederate Army General Nathan Bedford Forrest, an early leader of the Ku Klux Klan.) As the show progressed, Lilly became increasingly involved in the Civil Rights Movement, which eventually pulled in her employer, as well.
